Two-Sided Tolerance Interval for Exponential Distribution Based on Records

Authors

Abstract:

Tolerance interval is a random interval that contains a proportion of the population with a determined confidence level and is applied in many application fields such as reliability and quality control. In this paper, based on record data, we obtain a two-sided tolerance interval for the exponential population. An example of real record data is presented. Finally, we discuss the accuracy of proposed tolerance intervals through a simulation study.

Pitman-Closeness of Preliminary Test and Some Classical Estimators Based on Records from Two-Parameter Exponential Distribution

In this paper, we study the performance of estimators of parametersof two-parameter exponential distribution based on upper records. The generalized likelihood ratio (GLR) test was used to generate preliminary test estimator (PTE) for both parameters. We have compared the proposed estimator with maximum likelihood (ML) and unbiased estimators (UE) under mean-squared error (MSE) and Pitman me...

two- sided power distribution

In this paper, a new family of distributions with many applications in financial engineering have been introduced. This distribution contains important statistical distributions such as the triangular, exponential and uniform distribution. Initially considered a special case of this distribution And then survey The important features of it. How to calculate maximum likelihood estimates are pres...

Interval Prediction of Order Statistics Based on Records by Employing Inter-Record Times: A Study Under Two Parameter Exponential Distribution

In this note, we propose a parametric inferential procedure for predicting future order statistics, based on record values, which takes inter-record times into account. We utilize the additional information contained in inter-record times for predicting future order statistics on the basis of observed record values from an independent sample. The two parameter exponential distribution is assume...

Inferences for Extended Generalized Exponential Distribution based on Order Statistics

‎Recently‎, ‎a new distribution‎, ‎named as extended generalized exponential distribution‎, ‎has been introduced by Kundu and Gupta (2011). ‎In this paper‎, ‎we consider the extended generalized exponential distribution with known shape parameters α and β. ‎At first‎, ‎the exact expressions for marginal and product moments of o...

Interval Estimation for the Two-parameter Bathtub-shaped Lifetime Distribution Based on Records

In this paper, we study the estimation problems for the two-parameter bathtub-shaped lifetime distribution based on upper record values. Exact confidence intervals and exact joint confidence regions for the parameters are constructed. Approximate confidence intervals and regions are also discussed based on the asymptotic normality of the maximum likelihood estimators. A simulation study is done...

Confidence interval for the two-parameter exponentiated Gumbel distribution based on record values

In this paper, we study the estimation problems for the two-parameter exponentiated Gumbel distribution based on lower record values. An exact confidence interval and an exact joint confidence region for the parameters are constructed. A simulation study is conducted to study the performance of the proposed confidence interval and region. Finally, a numerical example with real data set is gi...
